Programme

The amazing -but forgotten- music of Thomas de Hartmann is presented by pianist Elan Sicroff and participants in The Thomas de Hartmann Project.
During a two-day Splendor Festival, Sicroff c.s. will offer a broad selection of De Hartmann’s eclectic music, performed in Holland for the very first time.

Composer’s Portrait
An Untold Story – Thomas de Hartmann (1885-1956)

The Thomas de Hartmann Project, spearheaded by pianist Elan Sicroff with producer/ researcher Gert-Jan Blom was established in 2006 with the aim of reintroducing the composer to the listening audience, after many years of neglect. De Hartmann had a prolific output, with widely varying styles, and the two recitals at Splendor will provide an opportunity to hear a good number of them.

On Sunday 2 October, Elan Sicroff will also present a lecture “Thomas de Hartmann – An Untold Story” which will include information on de Hartmann’s life, his ideas and music, along with vintage photographs highlighting his interesting career.
