Programme

Two Amsterdam-based groups presenting their new records “Bums” and
“I dare you sea”.

Twee Amsterdamse groepen presenteren hun nieuwe CD’s “Bums” en “I dare you sea”.

Feecho: Kaja Draksler, piano & Onno Govaert, drums

How Town: Lennart Heyndels: double bass, voice, compositions / Sarah Klenes, Elina Silova & Laura Polence: voice & Matiss Cudars, guitar

The explosive and brilliant Feecho meets the enchanting and thrilling How Town. Two Amsterdam-based groups join powers on this Baltic/Lowlands/Slavic trip through the vortex of modern creative music. The seven musicians in this group are close friends and long-time collaborators in a variety of stylistically diverse projects. With a big admiration for each other's work, they aim for similar esthetics and share their musical priorities: striving for originality, stylistic freedom, complexity within clarity, experimentalism, and research of sound, form, words, and textural possibilities. They celebrate a wide spectrum of genres (renaissance, modern classical, jazz, alternative pop, improvised music) by incorporating their influences, with the focus on the European traditions in improvised and composed music. The idea for the double-tour appeared organically, as a logical option, despite or maybe because of the differences in approaches, sound and energy of the two groups. Feecho and How Town will be presenting their albums “Bums” and “I dare you sea”, respectively.
