Flutes in Wolfe's Clothing is a special project focused on the world premiere of a new work by Julia Wolfe for 12 flutes.

Julia Wolfe is currently one of the most distinguished east coast composers in the United States. She is a MacArthur Fellow and has received many of the most prestigious US composition awards including the Pulizer Prize. She is one of the founders of the Band on a Can collective and continues to draw her inspiration from folk, classical, and rock genres, bringing a modern sensibility to each while simultaneously tearing down the walls between them.

This concert will be performed by the flute students of Aldo Baerten of the Utrecht Conservatory, Splendor artist Anne La Berge, with guest composer / performer Ned McGowan.

The works of Julia Wolfe and Anne La Berge are commissions from the US National Flute Association. Conduits was a commission for the Netherlands flute builder Eva Kingma who received the Associations Livetime Achievement Award in 2018.
