"Schubert" is a theatrical performance in which the dramatic life of Franz Schubert is told. It is the story of the great musical talent, of the friendly and somewhat shy genius, and of the not particularly handsome, but lovable person who mostly enjoyed being with his friends. Schubert died at 31. Schubert’s beautiful music will be performed by the Dutch String Collective with Jonathan Waleson on piano. The story will be told by Marieke de Bruijn, who also plays in the ensemble. The music is placed in the context of Schubert’s life and time. You will become part of the story of the personal drama of his illness, the mysteries surrounding his love life, and you will come to love Schubert even more than before.

Marieke de Bruijn - violin 1, idea, text
Jonathan Waleson - piano
Jan Erik van Regteren Altena - violin 2
Mark Mulder - viola
Jos Teeken - cello 1
Antonis Pratsinakis - cello 2
