De Zee
Romantic music for voice and piano
Singer Irene Sorozábal and pianist Darío Llanos Javierre present a short program of 19th century music. They perform two compositions who reflect on the sea alongside each other: One of the Two Legends for solo piano by Franz Liszt which tells of St. Francis walking over the waves; and “Sea Pictures”, a song collection by Edward Elgar including five poems about the beauty of the sea in its many states.
Irene Sorozábal Moreno is a mezzosoprano based in Amsterdam. She performs a variety of music ranging from medieval to contemporary classical music as well as improvised and original music.
Darío Llanos Javierre, piano, is a soloist, researcher and educator dedicated to the piano in all of its forms and specialized in the work of composer Franz Liszt.
