INNEC // Etter Isabelle Duo
ELEMENTS AND DERIVATIONSA quartet in the melting point between New Music and Jazz celebrating their single release, with an opening set by the fresh bass clarinet duo formed by Alice Izabelle and Salome Etter
INNEC is an Amsterdam-based quartet exploring new paths in music. With their name based on Wassily Kandinsky's concept of "Inner Necessity" they state their intention of striving for purity in music while
questioning previous conventions and managing to be rooted in the time we are living.
The band lays in the frontiers between contemporary music and experimental jazz and is formed by four young musicians coming from Spain, Slovenia, Sweden and Denmark. Their approach blends rhythmic and melodically complex compositional frameworks with free improvisation and a unique use of electronics, allowing the strong individual voices of each musician to melt in unity. A unique sound, complex like the present day.
With this concert they will be celebrating the first single release of the band, connected to their upcoming debut album ELEMENTS AND DERIVATIONS coming out in early 2026 with Honolulu Records.
Through works by Philippe Hersant, the two bass clarinetists Salome Etter and Alice Izabelle explore a shifting landscape of resonance and resistance, where sound emerges not as assertion but as gesture. They engage in a dialogue that is at once fragile and deliberate, their instruments echoing, interrupting and circling one another, shaped by breath, friction and silence.
