Time Regained // Second Naivety

A double bill with guitar player Mark Schimmel and the piano trio of Joy Shechter

‘Time Regained’ is an introspective journey to one’s musical past. In different shapes and forms, moving melodies on guitar will evoke a lot of memories. ‘This concert offers a ‘panoramic view’ of music that still resonates with me after all these years. All music that once meant something to me, artists like Neil Young and Bob Dylan, has its place in my programm’. With great love for the avant-garde movement of jazz and classical music, Mark embraces the experiment. While leaving a lot of room for free improvisations, Mark connects beautiful material from different genres in a very creative and original way.

Second Naivety is a jazz trio Led by pianist Joy Shechter. As the name suggests, the band is exploring a question relatable to almost any individual: how can one re-find naivety in their craft, after losing their initial innocence to knowledge and experience? Second Naivety’s music is narrative in its nature and is usually written under the influence of actual stories. The band features an interplay that combines mellow and rough articulations, presented with excitement and hints of humor.

Mark Schimmel - solo guitar

Second Naivety:
Joy Shechter - piano and compositions
River Adomeit - double bass
Aviv Maya - drums
