In this edition of 'Aad van Nieuwkerk presents' our host, together with his guests, will take a closer look at an instrument that was a fixed feature in millions of homes up until the 1980's: The organ! Riha, Eminent or even a real Hammond, the instrument was often played by all member of the family after diner. Much easier than piano, as you need only one finger to generate accompaniment for your right-hand melodies.
What happened to this tradition and all the instruments? Are they all gathering dust, abandoned and forgotten in the attics? And was this a typical Dutch tradition?
Together with his guests, Wilbert Bulsink and Akim Moiseenkov, our host Aad van Nieuwkerk will answer these important questions, with of course a lot of music played live and from the grammophone.
