George and The Dragon
works for solo cello by composers with the surname George
George and the Dragon, a musical homage to my son George (who just turned 6 years old). In July I’ll record an album filled with comport with his (sur)namesakes and will donate all proceeds of this recording to research for Neurofibromatosis type 1, which gave my George a brain stem tumor and which he is battling with for more than two years now. The myth George and the Dragon tells us about George and how he is fighting the dragon, just like our George is combatting his tumor.
