Carnatic tradition meets Amsterdam musicians
A unique musical encounter between Bangalore and Amsterdam: the virtuosic Lakkshya Band from India joins forces with a group of adventurous Amsterdam improvisers led by violist Oene van Geel.
Lakkshya consists of three young masters of the South Indian Carnatic tradition:
- KJ Diliip, violin virtuoso with a lightning-fast and expressive style
- Ila Diliip, violinist and vocalist with a lyrical, deeply rooted sound
- Sunaad Anoor, master of mridangam and cajón — rhythmic fireworks guaranteed
Together with Oene van Geel and a number of yet-to-be-announced Amsterdam musical free spirits, they create an open sonic space where centuries-old tradition and free improvisation meet. Fiery ragas, unexpected grooves, and spontaneous musical turns — always fueled by the moment. A rare chance to witness musical worlds melting together, live and without borders.
