A Pianist’s Journey: Impressions, Drama and Folklore

Simone Tavoni plays works by Satie, de Falla and Chopin

A Pianist’s Journey: Impressions, Drama and Folklore commemorates two composers with vividly contrasting styles, born around 150 and 160 years ago respectively: the Spanish Manuel de Falla and the French Erik Satie. To conclude, we hear Chopin’s monumental Third Sonata: an unmissable evening.

London based International acclaimed pianist Simone Tavoni will give a recital offering music by Erik Satie, the French master of refined eccentricity and sparse lyricism, and Manuel de Falla, whose music bursts with the color and passion of his native Spain. These sharply contrasting voices offer a fascinating musical juxtaposition.

The evening culminates with Frédéric Chopin’s towering Piano Sonata No. 3, a work of symphonic scope and emotional dept —bringing this compelling recital to a powerful close.
