Zingen met Emma
Workshop by Emma Rekers
On 21 February the time has come… and I will be doing what I love, what I feel deeply connected to and what makes me happy: singing with a group of people.
In the workshop Singing with Emma we sing a mix of folk songs and spirituals about joy and loss, about enduring and being held. We improvise with our voice and body to arrive at melody, harmony and rhythm.
Will I see you there?
Please buy your ticket in advance if possible, so I can estimate how many people will attend and prepare copies. And for the late deciders, tickets will of course also be available at the door.
About Emma:
Born and raised in Amsterdam, Emma Rekers completed her degree in Music Education with a major in voice at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2008. Since then, she has been active as a creator, conductor, developer, music educator and workshop leader, with a focus on vocal music and the voice. For a long time she sang little herself, until in 2016 a collaboration with ritual artist Ida van der Lee led her to sing during a project commemorating those who died in the Second World War. She, so to speak, found her voice again and from that moment on began to use it more and more actively in performances.
