Traditional Arabic percussion, drums, and electronics come together to create a new world of vast sonic landscapes and intimate rhythmic moments.

On the eve of their concert at the Wonderfeel Festival, Modar Salama, Felix Schlarmann, and Alex Simu will perform at Splendor. They will present their program Dialogues, created especially for this ensemble and for the Wonderfeel Festival.

In Dialogues, the three musicians use traditional Arabic percussion, clarinets, drums, and electronics to create an entirely new musical world. Expansive sonic landscapes alternate with intimate rhythmic moments, while the music remains in constant motion. Tonight, Modar Salama and Felix Schlarmann are joined by the Romanian Alex Simu as a special guest. Simu is an internationally acclaimed clarinetist, founder of the world-jazz ensemble Arifa, and winner of a Golden Calf Award for Best Film Music for Beyond Sleep. Together, they move between acoustic textures, electronic and analog effects, and Middle Eastern rhythms.
