Assepoester
An intimate and contemporary opera about longing, comparison, and growing up
Een intieme en eigentijdse opera over verlangen, vergelijking en volwassen worden
Hop!erette presents a contemporary adaptation of “Cendrillon” (“Cinderella”) by Jules Massenet: a compact 1-hour-and-15-minute opera sung in French, with spoken Dutch dialogue. In this version, not only the well-known fairy tale takes center stage, but also the pressure of growing up in a world full of expectations and perfection. With humor, emotion, and well-known arias, Hop!erette brings a fresh and accessible opera that appeals to both young and old.
