The tango department of CODARTS, University of the Arts, is one of the select few institutions in the world where students are educated to become experts in the Argentine tango music. The Master students in this department are currently preparing their graduation recitals (final exams) and can’t wait to perform this music. So we are bringing them to Splendor where they will show the many aspects of this Argentine music in all sorts of line – ups, from small ensembles to the full Orquesta Tipica. A unique opportunity to hear these future tango stars play in the intimate setting of the Uilenburgersjoel, the synagogue across the street from Splendor. Also: the teachers, among which Splendor musician Santiago Cimadevilla, play in the big tango orchestra too – don’t miss it!

Splendor can only be the independent and free hub that it is, thanks to the members who support us. We pay them back with our specialty: music. Every year, all Splendor musicians play one concert that's free for this crucial group to whom Splendor owes its everyday existence. Combined with many other events, this means that our members have free entrance to about 80 concerts a year for €9,99 p/m (and €4,99 p/m for minima and students!) – and receive a discount for all other concerts. The members enable Splendor to remain independent, which is the only way to secure real freedom in programming, experimentation, risk-taking and the promotion of young, upcoming artists.
