presents:
David Saruchanov's 'Rabbits' & Jonathon Reisen Quartet met Michael Moore
New music by two international Amsterdam-based groups with a special guest from New York City
The Rabbits is a collective featuring a unique recipe of two cellists, a singer, piano and keys, drums, and percussion. The bandleader, David Saruchanov, who is of Ukrainian and Armenian heritage, was born in Israel as a Jew and has lived with the lasting impact of war throughout his past, present, and future.
Over the past year, he has composed a repertoire that blends the band’s colorful adventurism and imagination with a message of collective and inner peace, equality, and faith. This vision is framed by the aesthetics of classical and contemporary music, with a strong emphasis on improvisation. In other words, there’s no need to be prepared for the unexpected; just don’t forget to wear your seatbelt!
David Saruchanov - piano & keys
Carolina Gemmell - voice
Flavia Escartin, Ori Ron - cello
Guy Abada - drums
