My Favourite Melodies

‘My Favourite Melodies for alto’ is the latest book by recorder player Sarah Jeffery, published by Schott Music. Fourteen classics from early music to brand new pieces, from Irish folk to Cape Town jazz. Sarah perform the programme with her colleagues on piano, harpsichord, and guitar, and will explain why these chosen compositions deserve the title of ‘most beautiful melodies’.

Works by John Dowland, Anthony Holborne, Francesca Caccini, J.S. Bach, Marin Marais, Antonio Vivaldi, Elisabetta de Gambarini, W.A. Mozart, Camille Saint-Saëns, Samuel Coleridge Taylor, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Althea Talbot-Howard, among others.

Sarah Jeffery is also known online as Team Recorder, where she enchants a quarter of a million followers with weekly recorder tutorials on YouTube. In addition to her online work, Sarah has published four music books with Schott Music, and will soon release a new book with Hal Leonard Publishing. She performs concerts all over the world as a soloist and chamber musician, and was appointed Professor of Recorder at the Royal College of Music in London in 2022.
