Duo Vimári
Violin & Marimba DuoWorks by George Gershwin, Béla Bartók, Steven Snowden, Lyle Mays, Andrew Thomas and Yann Windeshausen (world premiere)
Klara Mikuž (b. 2004) and Christophe Pütz (b. 2004), both studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, present their newly founded violin–marimba duo, Duo Vimári. The marimba’s resonant and color-rich sound are complemented by the violin’s lyrical expressivity and versatility. The duo expands the traditional chamber music format through the integration of electronic sound tape, exploring new dimensions of timbre and interaction.
Their program combines works by established composers such as Steven Snowden and Lyle Mays with their own arrangements of music by George Gershwin and Béla Bartók.
A newly commissioned piece by Munich-based composer Yann Windeshausen (b. 2002) completes the program, offering fresh perspectives on contemporary classical music.
