Multi-cultural reflections on the importance of Keti Koti

This concert is part of Keti Koti @Splendor: three great sets filled with music from around the world, to celebrate the liberation from slavery together!

(This is) Our Story: a musical journey from Mozart to the Moluccan tiff drums.

Schoch Kwartet: musicians of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (including Splendor musicians Michael Gieler and Johan van Iersel) will start very classically with Mozart, but will also play a new work by the Surinamese composer Michael Simon.

Shishani Vranckx will perform with her mesmerising ensemble Shakuar, in which she combines her musical roots with social engagement in word and music.

The set closes with Tiga Batang Rumah: magical tifa drums, played by two sisters and a niece of the fourth generation of Moluccans in the Netherlands.
