Hobotheose
Oboe & English Horn workshops with the Hoboplatform
The Dutch Oboe Society, Hoboplatform, is organising two workshops & a play along for amateur oboists of all levels with top oboists Pauline Oostenrijk & Xabier Lijo Bilbao. Hobotheose is the Hoboplatform's first live event and is being made possible by funding from the Amarte Fund.
Pauline Oostenrijk, former Principal Oboist with the Residentie Orchestra, soloist & teacher at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen will give a workshop focussing on Saint Saëns Oboe Sonata.
Xabier Lijo Bilbao, oboist & cor anglais player with The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra/Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, will give a workshop on the early Romantic period, the period where the Cor Anglais first started to appear in the symphony orchestra. He will cover the Cor Anglais solos from Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Berlioz’s Carneval Overture & Symfonie Fantastique
Both workshops last 45 minutes and it is possible to attend both, either as an active or passive audience member. The afternoon will finish with a play along for all oboists attending.
