Bassoonist extraordinaire Dana Jessen and musical storyteller Anne La Berge unite their unique and imaginative musical languages and sound worlds.
Wired (un) Wired is the coming together of American bassoonist and improviser, Dana Jessen, with flutist, improviser, electroacoustic musician, and longtime Amsterdam resident, Anne La Berge. The concert will showcase their unique musical languages, highlighting extended techniques and sound worlds that one might associate with science fiction soundtracks.
Hailed as a “bassoon virtuoso” (Chicago Reader), Dana Jessen tirelessly seeks to expand the boundaries of her instrument through original compositions, improvisations, and collaborative work with innovative artists. She is delighted to return to Amsterdam, where she studied improvisation and contemporary music, to collaborate with Anne La Berge, the pioneering artist and musical storyteller who defies categorization.
While the two have performed together in various ensemble settings in the past, Wired (un) Wired will be their debut as a duo.
