When Harry met Sally

An Evening with Pascal Plantinga & Frances-Marie Uitti

Dutch pop eccentric Pascal Plantinga is an electro-songwriter who couples experimentation with a singular way of musical storytelling.

His strongly autobiographical narrations just ooze with wanderlust and draw from personal experiences and encounters with unique characters from all walks of life. Be it a singing cabdriver, a disillusioned Miss California, an enlightened Hula dancer or an embittered Nazi kind enough to offer a ride, immortalized in songs they take on the role of Pascal’s own multiple personalities.

His long-standing working relationship with German electronic music pioneer Pyrolator lends Pascal’s music its powerful cinematographic character. The range of artists Pascal has recorded and performed with over the years include Gary Lucas, Guy Klucevsek, Haco, Hauschka, Martin Bisi and Shoukichi Kina.

As a film composer Pascal created the score for the award-winning feature film 170 Hz, Japanese music documentary Tsugaru No Kamari and the theme music for Atsushi Ogata’s Yukata Cowboy web series.
