She's Analog is an Italian band formed by Stefano Calderano, Luca Sguera and Giovanni Iacovella, all of which are active within the improvised and electronic music scene, both in Italy and internationally. Together they explore the sound possibilities offered by a particular declination of the most classic ensemble: the trio.

Collectively creating music, the group is inspired by a tenuous compositional starting point, which is enriched by the practice of free improvisation. The musicians all contribute to the development of rich and coherent sound textures, which are the result of an accurate process of braiding and blending instrument’s voices, to the point where it is no longer possible to distinguish their source. Compositions are shaped as fragile architectures that never become a limitation for creative expression: these structures carry feelings and suggestions, and let catch a glimpse of an inner space.

The group’s own language is constantly fed by the different influences and backgrounds of the individual musicians: contemporary classical, jazz, post- rock, minimalism and electronics all represent languages that interact dialectically, creating precious landscapes and textures that are always different, emotional and never abstract.
The trio debuted in both Italian and European venues, such as: Casa del Jazz (Rome), Sala Vanni (Florence), Novara Jazz Festival, ZUT! (Foligno), Opus Jazz Club (Budapest), Le Periscope (Lyon).

Stefano Calderano (Maratea, 1974) is a guitarist, composer and improviser. He is part of She’s analog, TellKujira and McCorman, and has played with these groups at many jazz festivals and venues in Italy and Europe, such as Moers festival, Oto cafè, BMC, Umbria jazz, Area Sismica, Angelica, Peryscope, Novara jazz, Jazz all'Aquila, Casa del Jazz, among many others.

Luca Sguera (Milano, 1992) is a pianist, composer and improviser. After several years between Siena, Berlin, Copenagen and Amsterdam he moved to Verona where he is currently based. Luca investigates sound as layering of signs and meanings, through an improvisation and composition practice in which rhythm and timbre play a main role. His latest album piano, exploded was released in 2023 by shhpuma/clean feed. He plays, among others, with She’s Analog, C+C=MAXIGROSS, Goodbye Kings and {scope}. He released records as leader and sideman for Aut, Auand, shhpuma, ROUS, viaindustriae, and Tǔk Music.

Giovanni Iacovella (Formia, 1996) is a drummer and audiovisual artist drifting between the worlds of improvised and electroacoustic music. Key element to his work is the interaction between acoustic and digital sound - a research based on the use of acoustic drums and resonating objects, of which inherent qualities are amplified through sensors, microphones and coding. He has performed at Bimhuis (Amsterdam), Roadburn Festival (Tilburg), Klang (Rome), Germi (Milan), ZUT! (Foligno), De Helling (Utrecht), De Ruimte (Amsterdam), Willem Twee Toonzaal (Den Bosch), Disorder! (Salerno), Time in Jazz (Berchidda), Novara Jazz and many others.
