SATELLITES (19u)
Group research presentationSATELLITES is a group experiment that includes improvisational scores involving movement, voice work and text. The group consists of 10 performers which come from diverse artistic backgrounds - singing, dance, performance, puppetry, music. The audience is invited to witness them play this series of “performative games”, applying a deep group listening as they communicate and decide without words who takes which part in this specific session, and how each interprets the task they are performing.
The evening consists of 2 sessions. They will both present the same structure, but because of the improvisatory nature of the work they will be very different. You are invited to come to one, or get a ticket for the second one as well, if you are interested in seeing a very different interpretation and activation of a similar performative structure!
The work is led by Ari Teperberg, a theatre maker, dancer and opera director. In his works Ari constructs performative mechanisms that take place between the sensory, cognitive and emotional systems of the audience and the performer(s). Fascinated with distance, voice and the eternal struggle to communicate, his research-driven works invite for a world of sound, movement, action and object.
This specific research is part of a creation process of a new solo of his - Listening to the Planets - which will premiere in Frascati Theater this March.
SATELLITES explores in a poetic and abstract way themes such as communication with outer space, satellite behaviour, orbiting, how to locate oneself, belonging, distance and delay.
