Songs of Cage and beyond

Elise Lorraine revisits works she performed in the 1990s, several written especially for her. The program contains works by John Cage, and composers from the Netherlands, such as Louis Andriessen and Calliope Tsoupaki, from the UK Andrew Toovey, and one composition by the singer herself. The passage of Time is a theme in many of the texts, through poets such as James Joyce, Allen Ginsberg and Federico García Lorca – and the mood flows from whimsical to passionate. Elise will be accompanied by Ukrainian pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi, who will also play pieces for piano solo. Yifan Du will join on vibraphone in the piece by Toovey.
