Jeremy Dutcher
Live in Concert ᒣᑏᐧᐁᓓᓄᐧᐁᒃ
Jeremy Dutcher is a Canadian indigenous Two-Spirit song carrier, ethnomusicologist, and classically trained tenor, who blends the song tradition of his Wolastoqiyik nation with jazz, classical, and pop influences.
He is best known for his Polaris and Juno-winning debut album which reworked 100-year old anthropological wax cylinder recordings of his community into collaborative compositions on the grand piano. Since the success of his first album, he has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma and Beverly Glenn Copeland, did an NPR tiny desk concert, and was recently featured in Vogue Magazine.
After a year of sold out shows across Canada, Jeremy makes his Amsterdam debut at Splendor with a special and intimate solo piano performance.
Jeremy will play selections from his award-winning debut album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa and his critically acclaimed sophomore album Motewolonuwok ᒣᑏᐧᐁᓓᓄᐧᐁᒃ.
