Ensemble Interactivo de La Habana - Undisclosed Creation

The Ensemble Interactivo de La Habana (EIH) is touring Europe for the very first time! When these four musicians start improvising the unexpected is what rules. In their performances not even the talented musicians of this singular Cuban quartet know what will happen in the concert - and therein lies the challenge: how can they create/compose an hour-long musical journey purely through collective improvisation? Dynamic orchestrations, funny dialogues, uncanny textures, surreal atmospheres and an intrinsic rhythmic and percussive vocation make the perfect formula for a truly authentic explosion of vibrations that sneaks up on audience and performers alike.

The EIH’s instrumental arsenal is a mix of classical instruments, a wide variety of ethnic and miscellaneous sources and interactive electronics that process sound in real time. The EIH’s goal is to offer an open musical experience, not bound by any style or aesthetic, but genuinely welcoming as many sources, inspirations and influences as they can, while celebrating diversity and serendipity. Special guest is tap dancer and Splendor musician Marije Nie, who will happily reunite with the ensemble after a first encounter seven years ago in Havana.
