Wie-kent Splendor: Schubert's Winterreise

In 2024, Splendor will be 11 years old and our beloved Badhuis (bathhouse) will be 101 years old. Of course we won't let this go unnoticed! To celebrate these memorable anniversaries, Splendor will be packed with festivities during the Wie-kent Splendor weekend from December 12 to 15. Today: Schubert!

A cold winter’s night, a wanderer without a home, a heart filled with longing. What does it feel like to journey through an icy landscape, devoid of warmth and shelter? The Splendor collective breathes life into Schubert’s Winterreise in a truly unique interpretation: a journey through melancholy, hope, and nostalgia.

This concert interweaves the delicate beauty of Schubert’s masterpiece with the warmth and camaraderie that make Splendor so special. Member concerts in Splendor
Splendor can only be the independent and free hub that it is, thanks to the members who support us. We pay them back with our specialty: music. Every year, all Splendor musicians play one concert that's free for this crucial group to whom Splendor owes its everyday existence. Combined with many other events, this means that our members have free entrance to about 80 concerts a year for €9,99 p/m (and €4,99 p/m for minima and students!) – and receive a discount for all other concerts. Pretty good deal, right?

The members enable Splendor to remain independent, which is the only way to secure real freedom in programming, experimentation, risk-taking and the promotion of young, upcoming artists.
