Music for tuba and percussion... take a deep breath!
ATEM(2) sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths... ATEM, (German for "breathing") is a concert centered around the moments where we can embrace peace and solitude through music. The low frequencies of the tuba provide the deepest feeling of being grounded, accentuated by the spiritual and comforting sounds of percussion.
In the Main Hall from Splendor, tuba player Dave Kutz is joined by the Spanish percussion virtuoso Diego Garcia for an evening of music selected to not only highlight the performers, but to give the audience a chance to take a much-needed deep breath from the daily stresses of life. This special concert features new compositions from the Brit Brian Earl, Christopher Deane, Avro Pärt, Darleen Mitchell and Ned McGowan. Come take a breath with us!
