Bandoneon klassiek

Music by Bach, Scarlatti, Schubert, Scriabin and others on bandoneon solo

The bandoneon is nowadays known as an instrument used mainly for Argentine tango music, but actually it wasn’t meant for this at all - in fact when the bandoneon was invented tango didn’t even exist yet. During this concert I’ll be playing music that’s seldom heard on bandoneon, but that suits it very well, even when played directly from the original piano or keyboard scores, without any reductions. There’ll be music by Bach, Scarlatti, Schubert, Scriabin and also Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla, and even a very rare composition written by the inventor of the bandoneon himself, Heinrich Band.
