Traveling Light in Darker Days
A warm and reflective last Splendor Friday concert on the last Thursday of 2021
Dear all,
As you know, we are closing the year with a venomous tail. Yet another strict lockdown. Yet again the live concerts have been cancelled, including the Splendor Christmas gatherings. Once again streaming is the only option. Partly for this reason, we as Splendor have set up a "24/7 live cam" to the main hall, where unfortunately the emptiness speaks even more volumes...
We would still like to offer you a special musical New Year's Eve greeting in this dark days, remembering Gerard Bouwhuis and Olga Zuiderhoek 'But whatever happens, there is music'. On December 30, 2021 at 8:30 PM we will live-stream the concert 'Traveling Light through Dark Days', an interplay of a small group of Splendor musicians with the intention of offering you a warm and reflective musical moment. How do we get through this time together, what inner strength can we find (and share!)? What challenges 2021 brought us, heartbreaks but also new vistas and space to look back, revise and then forward again. Or just a time to slow down. Whatever happened, there was music. We wish you all a happy new year!
