Me And My Love On The Road To Honduras

Andy Pavlov (Belgrado): solo piano

Andy Pavlov is the alter ego of Andrija Pavlović: an exceptional pianist and composer from Belgrado, with more than twenty years of experience in different fields of music (classical, popular, experimental and applied). As a member of the piano duo LP Duo, which was hailed as one of the eight best piano duos world wide at the prestigious Miami Dranoff Two Piano Competition, he toured the globe extensively, from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Royal Danish Opera & Theatre Copenhagen and the Meguro Persimmon Hall in Tokyo. But Andrija has many faces: he also holds a PhD in the pioneering project Quantum Music, and designed the brand new instrument Duality - Hybrid Portable Piano, together with his duo colleague, pianist Sonja Lončar. He also composes music for theatre, TV and films.

As Andy Pavlov, Andrija transforms into a solo pianist. Originally trained as a classical pianist, he followed his persistent curiosity in the endless sounds and styles he could draw out of his instrument, and soon found his way to contemporary music and art. Inspired by eccentric musicians such as John Cage, Thelonious Monk, Gurdjieff/De Hartmann, Ruben Gonzales and Simeon ten Holt, Andy Pavlov developed a very own style in which the subtlety of classical music merges with minimalism. His album, “Me and My Love on the Road to Honduras – The Minutes After Infinity for Piano Solo”, was inspired by “the depth and mystery of a period in his life when everything he thought he knew evaporated, and a great love, a home, and an understanding of the self emerged from the fog.”
The album was published by Universal Music, and can be listened to here.
