kgnm.Remote Zwei

Experimental Europe: Splendor meets the kgnm Cologne

With the series 'remote' the Cologne Society of New Music (kgnm) is running four concerts with their partner Splendor (Amsterdam) and the Croatian Composers Society (Zagreb). As ambassador the kgnm flute ensemble is sent to Amsterdam and Zagreb and Cologne welcomes the band Jerboah (Amsterdam) and the CANTUS ANSAMBL (Zagreb) in return. We will play, we will improvise, we will rediscover an analogue transfer of scores, knowledge and know-how - it will be a festivity of sound.

Experinces and dreams for the future of new music ensembles, which shape the cultural landscape across Europe, will be the focus of two mini-symposia in Cologne.

kgnm.remote zwei with the band Jerboah: an unusual quartet with recorders, EWI, drums and electric guitar, which playfully ucombines their thorough new music education with pop influences. The kgnm flute ensemble, founded in 2022 by Verena Barié: consisting of 7 flutists and three recorder players, playing music by Kevin Hanlon, the improvising Orchestra IMO and Anne La Berge.
