We 6ix

We 6ix: Two pianos, two basses, drums and trombone. Nick Adema leads a group that challenges the notions of our urban cityscape, yearning for a pragmatic future. Urban chaos is a facade of Metropolis life that strips away our perception of reality. Our music reflects a dream to convert urban space to human space, with water running through the streets, animals dancing on the rooftops and fruit hanging from the lamp posts. The goal with our music is to take back the city.

Original in nature, the compositions offer moments of consistent dissonance, uniform chaos and melodic clarity. Inspired by the climate of contemporary creative music, Nick has blended a series of compositions that is predicated on a frenzy of rhythmic and melodic questions. Ida, Federica, River, Samuel, and Chen carry out the vision of this ensemble with clever intent, and meaningful dialogue.
