The Skypainters was founded in Groningen in 2017 by composer and guitarist Kirill Dumchenko. “The Skypainters” performs original music. Stylistically music can be described as a unique fusion of emotional elements of Modern Jazz and intriguing aspects of Romantic Classical music, coming together creating one single entity. And we call it Impressionistic Jazz.

Samyog Regmi, a Kathmandu-born, Amsterdam-based composer, guitarist, and band leader, is the driving force behind the Alpa Orchestra, a unique septet that reimagines what contemporary music can sound like. The group comprises musicians from six different nationalities, all united by their love for improvised music and their studies in Amsterdam. Each composition has been meticulously crafted to conjure specific landscapes and imagery for the listeners. The intricate and elaborate themes serve as a foundation for tasteful improvisations, without conforming to the traditional lead sheet form of Jazz. The band's sound is melodic, soulful, and ambient, resulting from Regmi's careful selection of textures, forms, and the use of the voice as an instrument. The Alpa Orchestra is composed of an eclectic mix of talented musicians. Together, they create a unique and captivating sound that challenges traditional musical boundaries and showcases their diverse backgrounds and love for improvised music.
