Another round of Choro’s is coming to Splendor. This fine and rich tradition of Brazilian music that combines tasteful melodies, harmonies and rhythms brings a subtle balance between complex structures and spontaneity. It is a rare combination of warmth and virtuosity. After two successful Roda’s in March and April we are once again organizing a wonderful afternoon of traditional Brazilian Choros (pronounced "Shoros"). Whether you heard about this tradition or are totally new to it we’ll be honored to have you there and enjoy the sounds. If you already play Choros and feel you have a sufficient level, we may be able to find a spot for you. Maybe you can play a tune, or sing one of the Choro songs? If that’s the case, please consult with either Maripepa or with Lionel who will discuss the rules with you and try to find you a spot to join us. The Roda will be lead by Lionel Ziblat (guitar / mandolin), who will be joined by the host – Maripepa Contreras (oboe) and one of the most prominent experts in Brazilian music in the Netherlands, Marijn van der Linden (guitar / cavaquinho).
