An Autumn Night Sing is an interactive, cheerful, inspiring evening full of instrumental music and singing by three progressive musicians who meet at the intersection of classical, jazz and improvisation.
The Arise! Collective (Oene van Geel, composer and viola player, Erica Roozendaal, accordion and Laura Bohn, vocals) come together to put their own creative spin on repertoire of ancient music from all over the world. The music bridges traditional lullabies to classical art songs, sacred chant to folk songs, liturgical hymns to choral songs.
This unique concert invites the listener through original arrangements for accordion, viola and voice and unexpected trio improvisations on well-known classical repertoire. Oene and Erica also put their instruments aside to make excursions into some harmony singing. As the program progresses, there will be more and more opportunities for the listener - for those who want - to raise their own voice in harmony singing. No experience is necessary, just curiosity and the desire to sing in a group.
