ADE meets Cello Biënnale Amsterdam – electronic and acoustic
A unique meeting: Amsterdam Dance Event and Cello Biënnale come together for one evening at Splendor. Cellist Emma Warmelink and composer/producer Arieh Chrem, known in the Amsterdam club scene as Cartopol, will bridge the gap between both festivals on October 18th.
Together, they will draw the audience into a continuous flow of sound, where the seamless blend of electronic and acoustic elements creates a deep connection between the digital and human emotion. Listeners will be transported into an organic musical world full of expression, as Emma and Isobel Warmelink’s cello and violin transform digital rhythms. The evening will unfold like a journey without clear boundaries, immersing the audience in a fluid, ever-evolving soundscape.
Program:
• 20:15h – DJ set by Cartopol
• 21:15h – New work by Arieh Chrem for violin, cello, and synthesizers
• 21:40h – Works by Saariaho, Ligeti and Ravel, for solo cello and duo with violin
