100 jaar Badhuis!
Een reis naar het verleden: over de oude Amsterdamse Jodenbuurt, sociale verschillen en muzikale verbondenheid in 1923Op 13 december bestaat ons badhuis precies honderd jaar. Ter ere hiervan organiseren we samen met De Joodse Stad, Vlooienburg en Uilenburg (een samenwerkingsproject tussen de Universiteit van Amsterdam, Het Joods Cultureel Kwartier en Gemeente Amsterdam) een feestelijke avond die een inkijkje verschaft in het Joodse leven van Amsterdam in het Interbellum.
Hoe zag de buurt eruit in 1923, waarom werd er een badhuis gebouwd in de Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat, wie bezocht dit badhuis en meer van deze vragen komen aan bod in de lezing van journalist en historicus Rob de Spa. Begeleid door beeldmateriaal uit die tijd en - Splendor zou Splendor niet zijn zonder - schitterende muziek uit het Charleston Tijdperk. Splendormusici spelen voor u dé hits van 1923, zodat u zich even op het vooroorlogse Uilenburg waant.
Member concert

The members enable Splendor to remain independent, which is the only way to secure real freedom in programming, experimentation, risk-taking and the promotion of young, upcoming artists.
