Masterclass by the artistic director of the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend

Recognized as virtuoso, versatile, and innovative artist in marimba and percussion Tatiana Koleva has premiered over 130 works created especially for her solo and ensemble projects.

Born in Bulgaria, currently Koleva lives in The Netherlands and combines her intensive concert agenda with education activities, leading regularly master classes and holding a teaching position at the Prince Claus Conservatory / Hanze University, Groningen, NL. She is the founder and artistic director of the award-winning formation The (Youth) Percussion Pool - an education and performing platform for young professionals and the biannual festival event ‘Amsterdam Marimba Weekend’.

Passionately involved in the promotion of contemporary music and art forms all over the world,
Tatiana is constantly engaged with development of new programs often with her own music, initiating new musical encounters. Her performing style is marked by the press as “...highly energetic with intriguing rhythms and surprising musical developments”.
