The Amsterdam label Moving Furniture is a guiding light in the Dutch (electronic) avant-garde. The label's rich catalog includes drone, noise, field recordings, modern composition and pop music.

This MOVING FURNITURE FESTIVAL will feature artists who have recently presented new work on the label or will do so later this year.

COEN OSCAR POLACK's “A Concrete Pasture” was published last fall. This album full of field recordings, gamelan and saxophone received rave reviews. In Splendor he plays work from this record.

Double bassist DARIO CALDERONE's album “Isolario” consists of duos with other instrumentalists. In Splendor he presents new work for double bass and field recordings.

Label boss Sietse van Erve, alias ORPHAX, recently released an album of drone songs with his brother Poni and will present a composition at the Rewire Festival in The Hague in April in collaboration with Ensemble Maze. In Splendor he plays a solo performance.

The work of composer and sound artist FANI KONSTANTINIDOU is based on urban and rural sound environments, in combination with digital sound sources. She is working on a new album that will be released later this year by Moving Furniture.

Three new works by JOS SMOLDERS will be published this year, partly by Moving Furniture. He is also involved with the label as a mastering engineer. On this evening in Splendor he presents a new audiovisual work, specially produced for the occasion, which is shown in the absence of the maker.

The Amsterdam noise duo GLICE is loosely connected to the Moving Furniture scene through collaborations with Coen Oscar Polack and Lasse Marhaug.
