Mellonta - Psalm Songs

New music collective Mellonta presents a program of uncommon sounds and soft electronic tones.

Music can communicate the memory of lived experience through associative sounds that may stimulate both spiritually and viscerally. The poetic potential of sound lies at the heart of the pieces that will be heard. One such piece is Psalm Songs by Kavid Do, who, through sober yet dreamlike melodic textures, brings you through his actual and fictional pasts of evangelism and shamanism.

Four composers will present their pieces, including members of Mellonta. Mellonta is a new collective by Pietro Elia Barcellona. It consists of musicians based in Amsterdam that seek to redefine creative practices in new music. Members utilise their capacities as composers, interpreters, and improvisers and engage in more collaborative approaches to creating music.

This project is supported by the NORMA startersfonds.
