Lunch Concert Tomorrow's Stars

Three new up-and-coming marimba talents will perform for the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend audience

From the very first edition, the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend has offered a stage for young talent. During the PAS Italy competition and festival in Pescara, where artistic leader of the AMW, Koleva was a guest teacher, jury member and performer, the AMW Award was granted to a young talent for the fourth time. The honor went to Sung En Ching from Taiwan.

The collaboration between AMW and TROMP Percussion will be continued this time by inviting one of the prize winners to the AMW: Keith Ng from Hong Kong. He is currently following a master's degree at the Amsterdam’s Conservatory.

And last but not least, the Tomorrows Stars is completed by Tomasz Herisz from Poland, the winner of the Keiko Abe competition organized by the German association Marimba Festiva in Bamberg.

The choice for the Tomorrow’s Stars is not only determined by virtuosity, but stage presence, collegiality and the talent to tell the musical story weigh at least as much.
