Rachel Xi Zhang, born in China and currently residing in Amsterdam, spent the majority of her youth studying the piano before discovering the marimba, a instrument that captured her heart.

Rachel currently resides in Amsterdam and serves as a marimba instructor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Zhang's musical essence can be described as rooted in classical music from an earlier era but engraved with the characteristics of numerous collaborations with composers of her generation.
